Hi, I'm Anna.
From a young age, I wanted to be a scientist. Up until freshman year of high school in 2014, that was my dream. I then realized that I am terrible at both math and science, which (to say the least) put a wedge in my career goals.
I enrolled in my high school's introductory video course and instantly fell in love. I had always been a creative person at heart, and it felt as if filmmaking had been waiting for me all along. I immersed myself in video projects, film festivals, and everything in between, slowly learning the ropes. My high school film teacher, Steven Hamada, always pushed me to be the best I could and I truly owe everything to him for always giving me the extra shove I needed to grow.
Flash forward to 2018, when I graduated and accepted my offer to attend Arizona State University as a Filmmaking Practices major. I moved away from Seattle, off on my own for the first time. It was certainly not an easy adjustment, but I have come to love Phoenix and the extensive art community here. I am now a part of the Sidney Poitier New American Film School at the Herberger Institute for Design and The Arts of Arizona State University as a Film and Media Production Major. I am following the post-production track with a focus in editing and visual effects, while also taking some cinematography classes on the side.
Outside of school, I enjoy watching films from my favorite directors (Quentin Tarantino, Ari Aster, and Martin Scorsese). I also write short films and work with small clients to produce content for their social media. I am continuing to grow my freelance business and will be graduating in 2022.
I am proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Nuke. If you are interested in collaborating, please get in touch with me via the contact page.
